As a Concrete finisher you will be responsible for:

  • Pouring and finishing concrete surfaces. 

  • Ensuring the concrete is level, smooth, and free of imperfections.

  • Setting concrete forms to their desired height when necessary.

  • Raking concrete into its desired location.

  • Using a screed board to get concrete to the desired level.

  • Vibrating concrete when necessary.

  • Apply finishing techniques, including smoothing, polishing, or texturing, using power trowels, hand trowels, floats, or other tools.

  • Use a float or trowel to smooth rough patches, eliminate bumps, and remove any imperfections on the surface of the concrete.

  • Monitor the curing process to ensure it hardens correctly.

  • Regularly inspect and maintain concrete finishing tools and machinery (e.g., mixers, trowels, power trowels) to ensure they function properly.

  • Adjust finishing techniques based on the properties and specifications of the concrete being used.

  • Clean finishing equipment and tools at the end of the workday to ensure they remain in good working condition.

  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, boots, goggles, and hard hats.

  • Be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors, and in different weather conditions.

  • You may be subject to long hours.
